  1. This is horrible. Even in those short bursts, I could feel the frustration. Hope you had a book with you to help…of course, who needs a book when you have Twitter?Patricia

Twitter is the kind of reading this kind of jittery experience would encourage…pity I didn’t know you were going to be in Philly, for however short a layover…

US Air has a bad rep, but it was Continental that similarly stranded us (my friend Alice and I) in Newark overnight in 2003…and felt they’d done us a large favor under the circumstances by comping us a room at an airport hotel. (There has been worse service, but we were on our way to a wedding in San Francisco. Happily, not on the second day.)

  4. In another life, I was required to travel. This post made my palms sweat, pupils dilate, and heartbeat accelerate. Horrid memories. Ugh. Now, if it’s more than 15 minutes distant by car—with my wife driving—I don’t go.Best Regards, Galen.GalenKindley.com

Right there with your frustration. Hope you are happily ensconced in London by now.Karenhttp://www.karenfollowingthewhispers.blogspot.com

Hey, all — hello from London! Jet-lagged but it’s gorgeous.Todd, as it was I was in Philadelphia for all of two hours or so, most of which was pent waiting to get on the plane, then waiting for all the food to come from the plane we had been scheduled to take. Finally landed an hour and half late, but here!Yeah, Twitter perfectly captures the rising blood pressure situation!

Oh and the theme of the flight was UNHAPPY people, many of whom were yelling at each other and the flight attendants so exhausted they ignored it.

  8. Unknown's avatar Todd Mason says:

That’s Unhappy Sojourner (US) Air for you. (Mostly kidding about PHL, anyway…I wouldn’t’ve been allowed through to the Lost Soul–I mean transferring Valued Passegers gates, anyway.) Glad you survived the flight! Onward and (figuratively) upward!

  9. Your post reminded me how much I hate flying. Hope your stress level has lowered and you’re enjoying yourself now.Jane Kennedy Suttonhttp://janekennedysutton.blogspot.com/

I wonder what you feel if you come across this post in 10 years time. Will you smile and remember your frustration? In Quest of Theta Magic
