IRREVERENT TAROT 10 – Etteilla and Gender Essentialism

Pride Month has me thinking about the ways that gender is encoded in the tarot cards in so many different ways. Looking at the Grimaud Etteilla here in Dundee, rather than Lo Scarabeo’s in Hudson. Fascinating that the booklet retains some artefacts from the past and dispenses with others (hmmm, who might be behind the ETTEILLA deck, M. Grimaud?).

Coming to the last leg of my mystery project and trying to sort out some vexing things regarding finances (always vexing, never more so now). Learning to let go of things — at least I am trying to do so. Old habits die hard, but reminding myself there’s no tenure file now, no one cares what I write about or even if I publish, so let it go, let it go…
