Publication: Up Against the Wall 6

(When’s the last time I let a week go by without a post?! Blame lies on the narrow shoulders of the Midtown Hotel, whose internet service did not in fact work.) I have two reviews in the latest issue of Up Against the Wall, Phil Nutman’s magazine of pop culture with teeth. Enjoy — and yes, there’ll be a recap of Boston later (maybe even today).

Holy cow- that sounds amazing! Nice review & explanation of the seemingly complex plot….

Yeah, it’s gotta be easier to follow for someone familiar with the Kalevala, but if you’re used to the often convoluted plots of wu xia films, it’s not all that bad. It’s so ingenious — the seemingly bizarre mix works perfectly.

Wow — Phil even gives me a nice shout out in the editorial. Shucks — there’s sure an interesting bunch of people who write for this mag. I think I need to know more about elephant dung!
