Now available, apparently — I have yet to see it, but surely you want to buy a copy anyway! My essay is on Grendel in Beowulf, a meditation on what it takes to frighten the intimidating warriors of that Anglo-Saxon epic. Only the horror of burial denied… no body, no funeral.

  1. Sounds great! I sure hope it’s being published with a spiral binding so it can lay flat on the kitchen counter. I hate trying to use a recipe in a book that keeps re-folding itself shut.

    Clearly you need a handy little cookbook holder! Perhaps in keeping with this collection, you might want to go with the skeletal motif.
