Aural Lint is a new project for Visionary Fuel:
“Creativity is a way of living life, no matter our vocation or how we earn our living.” – Madeleine L’Engle
“Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent.” –Jim Jarmusch
“Course I’m an artist.” – Mark E. Smith
“No sé que hacer, si siguen quedaré enterrada en miel… Adorable manera de morir…” – Remedios Varo
This ensemble takes its name from a disparaging 1986 review of legendary group The Fall in which they were dismissed as ‘a good imitation of aural lint’ by a Canadian newspaper. A reminder that one must create without considering the opinions of other people as much as possible, while recognising we all have egos hungry as baby birds for feeding. In the Middle Ages, the pelican became a holy symbol of the church because it was believed to take blood from its own breast to nourish its chicks. Sometimes, we must feed ourselves, but let’s aim not to exsanguinate ourselves in the process.
