The Generator Projects Annual Members Show runs this Friday, 17 February until 3 March, 2024. I am happy to say I have a piece in this. Looking forward to the opening! There’s a performance night too, on the 29th: find your way to Mid Wynd off the Perth Road. Dundee folk are resourceful about finding space for the creative arts (see also Hapworks which is creating co-working space for artists — something definitely at a premium).

My piece is Hagstone Charm. I made it last year from hagstones and other mudlarking finds from Broughty Ferry. I have been obsessing a bit about the technologies of magic for…oh, I don’t know? –ages? Charms can be both verbal and practical: I think about all the ways we try to make tangible our desires and fears. Charms can protect, heal, or otherwise seek to make manifest the things we envision. How do we make dreams real? We find our ways.
