Writer Wednesday: Writing in the Digital Age

Midway through a hectic week — I want to write up the fabulous time I had on Monday at the Arts Center, but I need to work on my presentation for tonight’s gig:

Wonder how social media is changing the writing life? So are we! Luckily, local author, medievalist, Fulbrighter, and St. Rose professor K.A. Laity has great insight and will present, “Social Media & Writers in the Digital Age: how have Facebook, Twitter, and such changed the life of the writer in the 21st century?” K. A. Laity is the author of “Owl Stretching,” “Pelzmantel and Other Tales,” “Unikirja: Dream Book,” the editor of “Weird Noir,” and she will read from her speculative fiction eBook, “Unquiet Dreams.” Please join us!!

I get to talk about some of the things that I researched on my Fulbright as well as controversies ripped from the headlines. More importantly I’m going to catch some friends up for a nice Indian meal before hand, so that will be nice. Back next week with useful information here, but if you’re in town I can offer bonus Writer Wednesday tips in person, so you can be part of the shenanigans! I may or may not read from Unquiet Dreams. I was thinking of maybe reading my story from Drunk on the Moon or maybe a few pages from Lush Situation. Then again, maybe I will go with the original plan…
So writers, how has your life changed? And readers — do you like having the chance to ‘see’ more of your favourite writers online?
