#WriterWednesday at Claverack Free Library begins next week, March 5 from 6-7pm and continues the first Wednesday of each month. A seasoned writer will give a brief talk and then we’ll have time to share opinions and experiences.

The first topic: “Can you really edit yourself?” What are the perils and pluses of editing your own work and can it really be effective? How best to proceed when you are ‘too close’ to the work? What are effective approaches to seeing infelicities and structural weaknesses?

The ‘seasoned writer’ is me because I just pitched this series and now I am going to prevail upon writers I know to offer their expertise for future months. But with a few decades are editorial experience behind me, I feel confident I can offer some helpful suggestions.

Columbia and Greene County and other local writers: let’s gather and share our experiences!

Please bring a donation for the food pantry if you can. You have to make offerings to the muse after all!
