Random bits first: the mosaic tunnel, which I learned about on IG; Gatsby is a musical now because everything seems to be turned into a musical with unmemorable music I dunno maybe it’s good but I doubt it. And Oscar: impossible to just get Oscar; there were even more people when I passed by him again on the way to lunch at St Martin’s crypt. But I was on a mission to Somerset House and the Courtauld.

I enjoyed what pieces were there: Bourgeois especially but there was so little! I know that the Courtauld hasn’t much space but it was really giving short shrift to these wonderful artists to cram them all together. But I sat for a while thinking about the elasticity of art and the need to experiment more which was inspiring so that was good. Then there was some time for the other lovlies in their collection.

And then I went to the Coal Hole to celebrate William Blake and to have a Guinness because it was hot and did some writing until loud American tourists drove me away…
