Despite my aim to take a relaxed approach to London — and really, the aim was to get to Leonora in Sussex — and just do ‘a few things’ I find I have a lot of photos to share with you so how to begin? Rather than my usual temporal arrangement, I decided to begin with the most contained exhibit. The paean to Ken Russell’s The Boyfriend at the Fashion and Textile Museum. I was of course headed there for the BIBA display but I forgot this was still on! So extra delightful.
In addition to Shirley Russell’s designs and vintage fashion, there were other delights like the Bonzos and the late ginger geezer Vivian Stanshall and the delightful Neil Innes. I’m glad I got to chat with the latter at the Tate. Museums bring so many unanticipated joys.

Click to embiggen any one photo: some were impossible to get clearly through the glass cases, but these are more for my reference than for show, so there it is. Enjoy! More vicarious visits to come…
