The first afternoon in London I had planned to go to the Fashion & Textile Museum but forgot just how much worse afternoon traffic in The City has become especially with summer road works so when the bus announced it was ending the route at St Paul’s and going no further I took it as a sign to hop off and cross the river to the Tate Mod. Many things to see there but I chose the Expressionists of the Blue Rider:

Gabriele Münter and Wassily Kandinsky and friends started an imaginative working group ‘to experiment with colour, sound and light, creating bold and vibrant art.’ They wanted to change art but more importantly they were supportive of one another through experimentation in art, form and even gender. And it was a beautiful day — almost the entire trip was pleasant weather-wise which was a change from the usual sweaty Bettyness.
