When I got back from my jaunt to Sussex to see Leonora (yes, soon posting on that — after WorldCon which is occupying my brain space that wasn’t occupied by Be Surreal) I realised I was overly-peopled and exhausted by doing new things [and head full of Leonora which is quite a thing] so I needed to ‘touch grass’ as the kids say (I have it on good authority [I saw it online]). As I had made my jaunt from Victoria, I hopped on a bus and headed to Hyde Park to put some green in my eyes and mind which was very soothing. Also the Serpentine which has turned up in a couple stories if I recall correctly.

Hyde Park is also home to the Serpentine Gallery which had a few things on. At the North Gallery a show by Judy Chicago was in residence. One of the feminist foremothers of modern art, she splashed onto the scene in a big way with The Dinner Party, an honouring of the past of the many women erased from taught history. A lot of her work is very in-your-face vulvas vulvas vulvas, but I really enjoy her performance art and the assemblages in particular. I think you can still participate in the interactive projects.
