
Today the massive upload — well, one of them! I have a few massive uploads to come. But this one is the Schiaparelli: Fashion Becomes Art at the V&A which included a huge amount of materials from the beginnings of the couturier’s life to the afterlife mostly represented by current designer Daniel Rosenberry, who channels her memory with flair. I have made a reel and it is over twenty minutes long, so sit down with a hot bevvie and a big screen to enjoy. I know I will be doing so whenever I need some glorious inspiration. I even found some great music to accompany the images, thanks to the Internet Archive, home of public domain treasures as well as library of stuff. Including this reel:
Yes, I did mutter to myself, ‘Where is Fini?!’ but she was there at last. The exhibit is huge and if you can get to Kensington, I highly recommend it. My eyes were very full by the end and I needed a good sit down. Fortunately I had a chance to finish my sandwich before the heavens opened again. I even made lunch plans!
