London: Yoko, Before

Yoko at the Tate Modern

Okay, so I did not post about my first visit to Yoko at the Tate Modern. Or any of the other exhibits I saw last February and they were great. In my defence, there has been a lot going on this past year. I know many of you are in the same boat. But I remember my buoyant joy I felt arriving at this show, especially after the surprisingly harrowing effects of the textile show at the Barbican and the Women in Revolt exhibit at the Tate B [posts coming soon I hope].

And yes, I took different pictures and noticed different things and spend more time getting to see the layout of the show and remembering Yes, Yoko from years back. I hammered a nail and looked through the holes and read all the postcards and re-watched the harrowing Cut Piece video and did not get in the Bagism bag although others did. I sat and watched the films. I added something to the Refugee Boat. I wrote something for the My Mommy is Beautiful wall. I spent a couple hours there and could have stayed longer.

Go, if you can.
