As the migration approaches, I am trying to catch some last minute things — like visiting the new Keith Haring wing at Bard’s Hessel Museum, home of Curatorial Studies, where the first year students have assembled interesting collections. While I should get around to all the local art exhibits, this one had a particular draw for me: in the exhibition You Are Still Here Leonora Carrington’s Crow Soup (1997), loaned by Gallery Wendy Norris in Susan Aberth’s honour.

She’s not the only big name in the collection: there are pieces from Ana Mendieta and Joan Jonas, too, and an Olafur Eliasson outside (the 2nd on campus–the other is by the Gehry-designed Fisher Center):

Lots of great pieces and I enjoyed looking around (though one piece provoking photosensitivity). If you want to go, be mindful it’s only up through this weekend, alas. End of term comes all too quickly as I well remember.
